It depends how you're doing now. I'm doing a 1 year course now, followed by an apprenticeship in construction. I train regularly and the construction will be extra fitness, then I play to join up (the Royal Marine's) when I'm 22. It depends what section you want to join, if you wan't to join the Royal Marine Commando's, you have to be at peak fitness. Search it up mate, there's lots of different areas, and if you don't consider yourself fit enough to be on the front lines, then perhaps you aren't meant to be there. You could join the para's, the navy or the RAF. All depends on what sort of person you are, so check it out.

The only reason i dont consider myself fit enough is because I haven't really played a sport for over 2 years because of a persistant knee injury, but I used to play football everyday for like 4 hours without any problem, so I think I could get back up to that fitness with a lot of work :/

If you feel that way, then get yourself in the gym with a mate, train hard for 6 months with supplements like creatine, with regular protein shakes throughout the day. If you train 4 times a week with a split routine, no steroids (creatine will do), you'll get shredded and incredibly fit in half a year.

It says on the website the fitness levels such as how fast you need to run a certain distance, go for it man I was thinking of doing it but the cutbacks put me of joining as it's not a stable job that's for sure.
