Let's see here why would a 14 year old need a gun? I'll go off personal experience for this one, I raised by my dad since I was 4, growing up he wasnt around much due to working and going to school, from the time I was 9 I took my rifle out in the woods and hunt for food for me and my sister so we wouldn't have to eat oatmeal 3 times a day 7 days a week. Since then I carried out a tradition in my family since the revolutionary war and did my time in service fit to protect the rights and freedoms that everyone lives with today thanks to our ancestors. My pledge to protect the US and our freedoms and rights from enemys both foreign and domestic doesn't have an expiration date. What if the war comes to the homefront, how you gonna defend your home without guns, in that situation a child whether under 14 or not should know how to use a gun.

The guns are there to protect us from a tyrannical government. US has one of the most corrupt governments in the world, so I tend to think we need the guns. Also, thousands of people are saved by guns every year as well. Without guns, they will become victims. Even a 12 year old boy saved himself and his 17 year old sister by shooting an intruder. Also, look at Mexico. Strict gun laws but it's one of the worst countries in the world. Look at Chicago. That city has a gun ban and is one of the worst cities in America. When people know you are unarmed, they will take full advantage. A government that fears the people is a free country. People that fear the government is a tyranny.

Militias in Africa have people younger than 14 having a gun.
I'm not 14 but I'll be defending those who are 14 and people who are 14 deserve to defend their rights even though they are still young.

Where are you getting this fully auto rifle talk from? You need some serious background checks and licenses for full auto weapons. You have to keep them locked up and the inspector can check whenever they want as well. Most states have banned fully auto weapons anyway. Fully auto weapons are really not an issue unless you're speaking of the black market kind, which come from the government.

1. The chance of a dictatorship developing is nigh impossible. The Government would have virtually nothing to gain.

2. The Government wouldn't dare to do that. The rest of the world would sever all trade, military alliances, and many countries would intervene to prevent the Government from siezing power.

And the gun crime rates would fall through the floor.

It doesn't have to be over night. It's the fact it leaves us vulnerable in the future. Countries already despise America, so what difference would that make? Why sever the trades of one of your biggest money makers? China itself is a dictatorship, so I don't see them caring. I personally don't think a dictatorship will come out of it (at least publically.) It will always be masked with the three branches of government. We are allies with NATO, and I am sure they know exactly what's happening as well. We are already the world police, so I'm not sure why you think others countries would intervene at that point. They should have already did it if they were going to. We have no business being in other countries' business like we are.
