Call of Duty isn't dead,it isn't full of squeaky teens and it isn't modded to shit.
Halo isn't dead nor dying.
Call of Duty has only been going downhill since MW3 (hear me out first) but as with EVERY Call of Duty release,the new game is often hated (Black ops II) and everyone goes back to the older games saying "I NEVER HATED THIS GAME!" and stuff. That is what i mean by going downhill. They all have something which interests us and keeps us playing for a few months. then the games calm down and are quiet for a few month,then in may,New CoD. same process;
Game is announced
Everyone is dying for it.
Game is released
Gets loads of negative feedback from whiny players
Game calms down for awhile
New game is released
Back to step one
As for Halo. although reach wasn't as good as people thought i actually enjoyed that and halo wars (sometimes ODST) more than H3,the game in short. overrated,most people enjoyed the game Halo 3 for things like custom games and forge. which albeit were awesome,but you don't judge a game as "iconic" and "best game ever" for things like that. it comes down to multiplayer and Story,i found the story boring even the first time i played it through,and online never reaches more than 300 people today,if it were so good,people would have returned.
However this is just my opinion,people will agree and disagree.

Wait, so Call of Duty has been going downhill ever since MW3 but their hasn't been another game after MW3, and MW3 is the most played game on Xbox Live, and MW3 outsold every Call of Duty game? Makes sense.

BF3 can't even get more traffic than Black Ops.

I completely agree. The armor abilities felt to much like perks from CoD. The only reason I will play this game is for the story. Hopefully they didn't screw that up to...
