My guess even with a police statement, it wont be there first priority. Plus you should be fine if anything does in fact happen.

How do they find out if it's you or not?
Most people think they are completely hidden when they are connected to a VPN. They aren't. You can EASILY be traced back.

From my experience, I've dealt with people having this problem countless times. It isn't worth the authorities time. He is most likely claiming to make a statement to make you feel intimidated.

I am not going to say you're wrong here, because 90% of the time VPN's can be traced, hence why most people who have a general idea of what they are doing would tunnel.
Considering not all encryption is strong in "free VPNS".
as well as these "logless" VPN's. They have logs somewhere. very few are true to that.
You can either
a. have your encryption cracked, depending on who is trying to deal with the said case. (cuz crypto)
b. just don't do it
or just get PIA, either or
