Mikev6 wrote I may be wrong but judging by the parts, you may be ona tight budget or just don't upgrade alot...

IF on a fairly tight budget I'd recommend:

-Intel Pentium K Anniversary edition G3258

AND the MSI Z97 motherboard

-This will keep you going if you need to save for the additional parts you will need to add that I'm going to mention and also use Sanctyy as a good reference as he's already said it:

The PSU: Change it, it's unmodular and quite low in the food chain as to what Corsair can offer power supply wise, 650 is enough power though.

The graphics: if you're on a budget I'd recommend the EVGA gtx 750 Ti, great little card with 2GB of VRAM, not too old in age I suppose and already superclocked!

Steps I would take after built:
Invest in a closed loop water cooler for the CPU and overclock it a little bit, taking advantage of the fact it is a K processor and from looking at videos they overclock nicely. Also your RAM would be a nice little upgrade later in time, not NEEDED though.

£200 is that really tight for a processor?

And £100 for a board?

Jfc. This needs to stop. 750Ti is a horrible choice for GPU. Pentium is a horrible choice for CPU. OP-Your budget was £275 and now it's £300? Get the H97 board and Xeon I suggested and just be done with it.

I prefer my i3 to the Xeon, sorry but i want an i5 or i7

Don't really have a budget, just have money. No i don't need an extreme rig just a good one.

You saying Xeon with no other option is like you saying get sushi instead of chocolate! i don't like sushi or Xeon :rockedover: :russianroulette:

Please, i appreciate your help and i know you are knowledgeable about computers. Just send a i CPU over my way. Thank you.

seriously all this because it's called xeon it's a i7 4770 with less of the price tag, ECC memory support and some other fancy stuff. I can't understand why you are making a massive deal out of it.

it has just as much resell value as any other CPU it'll have more than a i series consider xeon's have more features.

You ask for peoples help, then you reject what they say to help you because you think you know better. As these guys are saying, a xeon is better than iseries if you don't want to overclock. Now stop wasting peoples time by asking for help if you don't actually want any help.

People are trying to give you the most for your money, and since you are on a budget, not overclocking is much cheaper. If you want to overclock you have to get a nicer motherboard, an aftermarket cooler, and a K series CPU, which will all cost you more money. Us trying to get you to buy a xeon is us trying to save you money.

Also this is basically you right now since you just want to waste money because we don't offer good i series processors, because well guess what, its not worth the money if you're not overclocking.:
