Actually , English / Grammar curriculum is necessary in schools.
You need to learn how to speak your language properly.
But , most of the math in schools today is pointless & stupid.
All you need in life is the basics of math not all that other crap.
False for programming career you need to know algebra and some colleges require you to know up to Calculus 4 but how about construction, finance, learning about stocks thats not all simple math.

Yeah , but we shouldn't learn that unless you plan to pursue those careers.

You should take all of the AP classes. The are pretty much college classes that teach content content and more content.... But, I guess if you've got sucky teachers it won't really help much.... But, we don't have to worry about any semester exams or finals because we count the AP test as our final.

You may hate it now, but you will later on be grateful that you stuck with being in school.

You should be happy that your school and teachers give a damn. There are some kids that have to learn on there own. Homework isn't even that bad either.

DUI wrote Okay , I'm not normally the type of guy to exactly "enjoy" school , but It just annoys me to see that I have to attend a public school 5 days a week , 7 hours a day that takes up most of the years' time. Every single year I learn the same crap in class that I learned the previous year. The thing is , when I get home I have to do this thing called "Homework" like 7 hours isn't enough time to bore your brain to death? And , it's 13 years of this ********!!! On top of that , the teachers at my school suck ass!!! They teach us nothing and rip us off with our grades. What about those teachers that just hand out packets & expect us to learn something? American Education sucks. Out of all the money the US invests in our education I think it should have way better quality than this. Why Am I concerned?? Because , the education & schooling that we provided determines our country's future. What are your thoughts on this topic?? Also , if you don't live in The US what is your education experience , do you actually learn stuff that is useful in life??

Most of the stuff that you learn in school really helps you in your real life experiences. So, really, school is the best thing that can happen to you (besides a girl/guy) but still. Don't hate school too much

The education you learn in school will help you in life.

Math - Critical thinking skills. Normally people who are excellent in math will have excellent critical thinking skills or can make stuff up as they speak.

English - Communications skills. Good writers will tend to communicate their ideas out clearly. Also, they will be persuasive.

Social Studies (Us history, World History, etc...) - Social Skills. Kids who are natural good in Social Studies classes are the same kids who have tons of friends.

Science - (Dont know). lol

To some it up, yes the content you learn might be pointless to you depending on your career path, but it's still important for real life problems.

Some of my teachers don't even teach, they just hand out worksheets and give us a book and expect us to find the answers in them.

I like school because its setting up the lines for a good career if you go to post secondary schools. I have a 3.61 GPA and can agree with all of you, school is Amazingly boring, i just wish homework wasn't there, that'd help a bunch.
