How to get number of items in a chest

What you will need:

• A power source
  
• An inventory source (Such as a chest)
  
• A wire (Red or green)
  
• Any items to count
  
• A lamp
  

First, you will need a source of power. This can be either from your steam turbines or your solar power grid.

Next, place your inventory source down and put some items inside it. For the example, I have placed 5 Blue Belts inside a steel chest.

You will now need your lamp (or other useful item to interact with). Place it down and connect it to the chest with your wire.

Now you will need to set a condition at which the lamp will turn on. For this, I will use "Blue Belts total is greater than 10". Click the lamp to bring up its GUI.

Now click the empty grey box to select the item you wish to compare with.

The lamp will turn on if you have the items in the lamp as the total is greater than 0.

If I then set the number to 10. The lamp will be turned off because I only have 5 Blue Belts in the chest.

Doing this, you can set a lamp to turn on when you have more than X amount of items inside your chest. This is useful for a status indicator for items such as Alien Tissue and other important items which you will need to keep track of their quantity.
