Trophy description - Survive to see the dawn of the 5th day in Survival mode

Trophy - Gold

This is easily the most difficult trophy of the DLC and is deserving of its Gold status. Days are essentially the same as the main game's levels, save for that there are no checkpoints (you can't restart at the beginning of a day) and each day is the same length of time, lasting approximately 4 minutes each.

Personally I found that the best thing to do was to take advantage of the new (free) Ship Editing DLC, and create a custom ship, with max boost, and the rest into agility. Your main focus should be survival, and Human gathering. I also preferred the Nemesis ship weapon, as you are primarily dealing with many smaller enemies, rather than boss enemies.

It is worth noting that if you are playing Co-op and you die but your partner makes it to Day 5 without you, you will receive neither credit nor trophy.

Focus hard on picking up humans, as the more humans you get, the more upgrades and bonuses you will receive. At the top of the HUD, there is a meter that is filled as you collect humans. Once it fills, you will receive one of three things: a weapon upgrade, a shield upgrade, or a "roulette" sort of bonus, which "spins" as it comes down, and sticks to a bonus when it comes to a stop. The various bonuses include Supercharge (supercharges your weapons, giving you a temporary boost to fire speed, and ship agility), Clock (halts time for the enemies) Shield, Extra Bomb and Weapon Upgrade, among other less helpful bonuses such as Score Multiplier.

Whenever a Sentinel appears, I highly suggest focusing them down (though not at the risk of losing a shield, a human, or worse, your life). When a Sentinel is destroyed, they explode, similar to your Bomb weapon, which can be extremely handy in the later levels. While fighting a sentinel, remember that you can use your boost to break through the wall of bullets, as well as to clear out any nearby enemies. You can also use boost to damage the Sentinel, though this can be a risky move. If you have Overdrive, I suggest using it to clear out any enemies in the area, rather than damaging the Sentinel, as this will clear a path to keep you alive. Of course, your strategy will depend on your ship's build - I like a light, safe ship, while you may prefer something heavy and powerful such as the Phobos ship.

Try to save your bomb for a last resort, as the odds are a time will come where you are out of boost and surrounded by enemies. It's important to remember, especially in the later levels, to use what has been given to you - Boost through enemies to safe spots when necessary and use your Bombs or Overdrive when necessary. Survival is key here.
