To perform a software update for a Wii U title, connect your Wii U console to the Internet and start the game to update the software.
Please note: updates can be downloaded and installed automatically if standby functions are enabled within your Wii U console's System Settings.
After installation has finished, the software version number will be updated. The software version number is usually displayed in the bottom-right corner of a game's title screen.
