The Bat Bat is a magic melee weapon. It leeches 6.8 of a target's health with every time it is hit. It drains 3.4 sanity per hit if the wielder's health is not full. It is the fourth strongest weapon in the game.

The Bat Bat requires 5 Batilisk Wings, 2 Living Logs, and one Purple Gem to craft and a Shadow Manipulator to unlock the recipe.



The Bat Bat's leeching ability makes it ideal for fighting low damage dealing mobs such as Spiders and Hounds while wearing a Log Suit, as you can be healed by one hit on the enemy. It can also be a way to easily regain lost health.

If you are low on health, a quick way to regain some without risking more damage is to attack Chester. Chester's health should regenerate fast enough so a few hits won't kill him, although if he does die, he will return just 1 day later.

This is a great weapon for Maxwell as his sanity boost will make up for the sanity lost for every hit and the health bonus is welcome with his low max health.
