Minecraft has sold close to 107M copies to-date worldwide

4.7
If we’re being exact, that’s 106,859,714 copies sold across all platforms, which is close to 53,000 copies sold daily.

Mojang released the aforementioned stats earlier today via a lovely infographic, noting the game has been sold in every country around the world – included four copies on the content of Antarctica.

The scientists and military personnel stationed there have to do something other than freeze their asses off, right?

In North America, the PC/Java version accounted for 19% of sales, consoles 40% and the Pocket Edition made up 41% of sales.

Those who reside in Europe seems to prefer the Pocket Edition as well, but as with North America, the figures were close with 36% vs 35% for the console version. 29% of users purchased the PC version.

In all regions reported in the graphic, Minecraft Pocket Edition was the most popular version, except in Lain America where consoles won out with 47%.

Mojang said over 40 million people log-in and play the various versions of Minecraft per month.

Ilcamorrista Do people even still pay for Minecraft now?.

You have to pay for Minecraft... it's not a free game. Whether or not your talking about Minecraft on PC, Consoles, Pocket Edition or Story Mode (Not sure if Story Mode counts towards these statistics because it is Tell Tale Games that makes that game) you have to pay to buy the game or an account.

Wow, I have never been really interested in this game, however it does not interest me that they have surpassed 100m copies sold and going on to 110m.

It really doesn't surprise me that they have sold so many copies - such a successful game and can be played by all ages!

Unbelievable how successful this game has been although I think Notch regrets selling it. Uncommon a game can be so enjoyable to all age ranges too.
