Battlefield 1 to get free DLC soon after release

Paid DLC has always been a point of contention in the gaming community, particularly with games like Battlefield.

So it should come as good news that some of the first DLC for Battlefield 1 looks to be free for everyone.

The DLC is listed as part of a pre-order bonus on Origin that grants 7 days early access to the free map drop, which will then presumably become available to all players.

The map will probably release shortly after the game if it’s already being listed as an incentive to pre-order, so it’s likely to be the first bit of extra content we’ll see.

Does this bode well for EA’s DLC plans for Battlefield 1? Or should we not get ahead of ourselves?

Battlefield 1 is scheduled for release on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Free DLC :O Arent battlefield partnered with EA? EA charge for anything they possibly can. They'll probably charge you extra for the ability to play online like they did in the past

Yeah, even though it might be just one map, its still good. This is the main reason why they have kept Battlefield fans happy with BF4. Its because of the amount of DLC. Battlefield 4 was released in 2013 and you can still find packed game sessions. Its crazy. I still play BF4 to this date and never had a problem finding a game.

I love how this hypes people up when all that is basically happening here is they are keeping a base map that should come with the game anyway aside and marketing it as free dlc to make it look as if they are giving to the players haha.

Still great news if its a whole map pack, and to be fair they have made quite a few free map packs for battlefield 4 using the community to test and vote them but just made me think about the logic behind free dlc that is announced by games developers before the game is even released.

(Don't get me wrong I absolutely love battlefield and can't wait for this game)

I've been waiting for a shooter based on WW1-WW2 to come out. Yeah of course the older versions were hella fun when I was a little guy. I'm tired of seeing the shooters turn toward futuristic tech and flying and jumping everywhere. We have enough of those now. I'm ready for feet on the ground warfare. The dog fights in the sky are a nice touch as well of course. Cant wait to play this on my new rig.
