Phil Spencer Promises Microsoft Is Still Committed To Xbox One

4.5
Over the past few weeks some major concerns have risen regarding the future of Xbox One, and how Microsoft plans to handle its Xbox business overall. Some major Xbox exclusives are being moved to Windows 10 and many like – Gears of War 4, Halo 6, Forza Horizon 3 – are rumored to be in the pipeline.

Microsoft on the other hand has now come forward to explain how Xbox is still its priority, and it isn’t planning on killing the console business or shifting all focus on Windows 10 gaming.

Phil Spencer said that there is a lot of passion among Xbox gamers. However, they do not need to worry about Microsoft’s commitment to Xbox One and Microsoft’s console business.

The fundamental concern that people have is, ‘Are we losing focus on the console?’ ‘Is Microsoft somehow going to back away from our console focus and have us only focus on Windows?’ Absolutely not true. We are more committed to our console and the future of that console than we have ever been

Phil Spencer isn’t the only one, Aaron Greenberg also assured fans during a recent interview.

Aaron Greenberg:

People should know: Xbox is a big priority and a huge commitment,” he said. “Please do not let the fact that we are also launching a game on the same day on Windows 10 change your perspective on the importance of the console business [or] our commitment to innovating on console.

He added:

From our CEO down at Microsoft, there’s tons of commitment and enthusiasm for our [console] business [and] we’re having tremendous success,” Greenberg added, noting that Xbox One exclusive game sales were strong in holiday 2015 and that overall, “business is good

Assurance is always very….reassuring. However, if they bring Halo, Forza Horizon, and Gears to PC there will be a major blow back. They need to make sure there is a balance between Xbox and Windows 10 gaming even if these are being presented as a unified platform.

I don't see why they would give up, or anyone. It doesn't make any sense from a logical point of view, or from a business one. It would be suicide for Microsoft to forget about the Xbox One.

I'm glad to hear this, As they should stay committed to Xbox One in my opinion.

Good to hear, they have been worrying me lately.

PintPosted:

Well hopefully they are telling the truth

SkittlePosted:

I do hope that they do more to connect the PC and Xbox markets together though, I doubt they will lose their commitment to XB1.

I think they're killing the xbox one lately. Empty promises are being given.

EarthbornPosted:

For how long? It's obvious they're dying to make the change to Windows. They just want to avoid the outrage it would cause if they dropped the Xbox One.

StifledPosted:

I'm really confused on what they're doing to be honest.

Yeah as THQ has said, I read a article than Microsoft said they are bringing out three games for the windows 10? Now they're saying they need to control stage between the Console and for PC gamers. Not sure what's going on here?

THQPosted:

I don't understand why was people making assumptions they weren't committed when the article states of 3 games in progress in which are exclusive?
