Ubisoft CEO: 3D market to take off next year

4.6
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is expecting 3D technology to begin selling well during next year’s holiday season.

Speaking on the company’s earnings call earlier today, the executive said he anticipates “lots of bundles with 3D monitors… and they will be small sales in stores, in game stores.”

“…it will be very strong next year, at the end of next year, which means… November, December next year will normally be the time when we will start to see very good sales on those products.”

This comes just days after Ubisoft’s UK head of marketing Murray Pannel said 3D televisions will be in every home in three years’ time then.

The publisher’s offerings, Guillemot added, will reflect that optimism; most of the company’s upcoming “high end games” will be 3D-enabled, including next year’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
