Call of Duty 2016: Infinity Ward Says “2016 Is Going To Be Incredible”

Another year, another Call of Duty. Of course, considering the resurgence the franchise has seen in the last year, with the launch of Treyarch’s Black Ops 3, which reverses the trend of flagging sales and quality for the franchise, one is bound to have renewed enthusiasm for the franchise again.

This year’s Call of Duty game is going to be helmed, presumably, by franchise creators Infinity Ward, who have hinted that great things are in store for Call of Duty fans. “Happy new year!! 2016 is going to be incredible. Let’s do this,” Infinity Ward said on Twitter. “Here’s to reaching new heights!”

The last Infinity Ward Call of Duty game, Ghosts, was launched in 2013, for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC, to wide critical disdain. However, it was made on a truncated development cycle, and suffered from the console transition as well- presumably, this year’s game, which will be the first game Infinity Ward have developed on a three year cycle, can live up to the standard set by past Infinity Ward Call of Duty games.

I hope by amazing they don't mean exo suits & running walls & all that bs. It's not Halo fam.
But that won't happen IMO it will just be more futuristic shit with laser guns, etc.
I'll just stick with good old Black Ops 2.

Foam I don't understand why they never make a CoD like Mw2 or CoD4 anymore. So many people have been asking for it and many people quit because of the future bs. CoD isn't like what it use to be anymore. They don't make as much money as they would if they listened and made an old-style CoD again. It would make them twice, if not triple the amount of money if they did. They're just losing money in my opinion.


They are most definitely not losing money, but not making as much as they use to. Treyarch made hits like BO2 that generated an enormous amount of money but IW disappointed us with Ghosts, but still they made money. IMO they should all take a break from the futuristic bull crap cause quite frankly I agree completely with your statements about making or remaking an old CoD. Treyarch should too, what I would give to play WaW on next gen with no hackers!


Thank lord someone says it. WaW on next gen (or even a sequel) with no hackers? My dream come true. I'd pay extra for that honestly.

OT: I agree with what you two are saying. The cod 4 thru MW2 was the best stretch of CoD for me. IW built up CoD to what it has become today (they were the original Dev for it), and I hope they can bring back some of that style of gameplay that made it a huge success. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us!


I completely agree with all of you, CoD was at its peak during MW2 but the games after that started slacking, MW3 was the last game to not be futuristic and I played the hell out of it! I didn't put much time into Black Ops 2 all the way through Black Ops 3. It doesn't even feel like you're in a war anymore I just feels like a bunch of nonsense. Modern Warfare 2 had so many qualities that made it amazing! The fact that you can use almost any type of class and do good, and there was no jumping around or seeing through walls and all that B.S and it never got old. I miss the days when there were killstreaks instead of scorestreaks also, like I can be on a 6 killstreak and still not have my UAV yet. People complained that CoD was the same for all those years are those people are to blame why CoD lacks its potential now. I want our old styled CoD back where you can actually have fun instead of all that nonsense. Keep it simple and original. A remastered Modern Warfare collection would make me the happiest man on the planet!

Black Ops 3 is better than every game after CodWaw...

I agree though---the new game(s) better be remasters. That's the only true hope for the series, aside from 3Arc.
