A new PS3 emulator called RPCS3 shown running under DirectX 12

4.7
Great news for all those interested in emulating WiiU and Playstation 3, as their emulators seem to be rapidly progressing. YouTube’s ‘Crash Shadowghost’ has showcased Mario Kart 8 running the latest version of CEMU (WiiU emulator), while YouTube’s ‘John GodGames’ shared some videos, showcasing the DX12 version of RPCS3 (Playstation 3 emulator) running After Burner: Climax, Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit (lots of artifacts and broken visuals on this one) and Silent Hill 3. Kudos to our reader ‘varadan gns’ for informing us. Enjoy!

gtapro151 they are both to buggy for my likes. nice work though but a ps3 can be picked up for 100 bucks on cl

That isn't the point. Sure, you can get the console but there is no challenge in that. The point is that people are emulating the PS3 console on a PC. Something that many people said wouldn't be possible.

I'd say its easier than the Xbox 360 though.

Kryptonite704 Wonder how they emulated the spe's and what the system requirements are....prolly a high end i7 out of reach for many gamers (myself included).

Doubt it. Most of these games don't really require much, due to them being played on limited consoles in the first place. A decent budget PC, 700ish USD, could probably play these games.

I'm actually very interested in this. I wish they would make one for the Xbox games though! I want to play Forza Horizon again, without that $300 price tag for one game.
. Actually it's pretty demanding to emulate a different architecture by itself and along with the ps3's other weird tech its been what..10 years and it's almost playable lol a budget machine won't cut it here.

XeGoat I don't have ps3 so I don't really care but nice to know

I feel like you SHOULD care if you didn't have a PS3.

Apparently no one bothers to read the articles on this website so I'll just type it here:

This PS3 emulator lets you play PS3 games on a PC. It's free and in a year or so you could probably play and PS3 game you want on your computer.
