Rocket League on Xbox One Won’t Feature Crossplay With PC or PS4

As it was previously leaked and announced officially at The Game Awards last night, the popular multiplayer game Rocket League is coming to Xbox One in February. The game has already found a great deal of success on PS4 and PC, so fans on Microsoft’s console were excited to get a chance to try it out for themselves.

However, one immediate concern on fans’ minds was the ability to play Rocket League games with players on the PS4 and PC systems. The game’s official Twitter account responded directly to a fan today and revealed that hardware limitations would not allow for crossplay at all.

@rlpte The Xbox platform doesn't allow for crossplay matchmaking between other systems as a general practice across all titles.

Katsumi Damn. I would of really liked to play with friends on other platforms. Don't think that i'll be buying this game when it comes out.

Even if it allowed cross play, you wouldn't be able to play with them. it would be up to chance that you and your friends are all put into the same game together, there is no way to invite players from other platforms.

To those calling PC a console, it's not.

Im wondering

Well, Rocket League for one is cross play on PC/ps4. I believe the same goes for the game Warthunder between PC and PS4. Not many games support it, but it definitely exists.
