343 Says Not To Expect Campaign DLC for Halo 5: Guardians

4.7
Halo 5: Guardians was just released for the Xbox One this week, and players have responded well to the game’s multiplayer but had some complaints about the story and length of the campaign. In a recent interview with Red Bull, 343’s creative director Josh Holmes offered some insight into the design of the campaign and shot down hopes of any spin-off downloadable content.

First off, Holmes asserted that Guardians‘ campaign is significantly longer than that of Halo 4, with the caveat that you take the time to track down all of the hidden intel and skulls. He also came out and said that no episodic add-ons are in development to continue the story of Halo 5: Guardians.

“While we’re always looking for new ways to expand the Halo universe, we do not currently have any plans to release future campaign content for Halo 5: Guardians.”

Halo 5: Guardians is now available exclusively for the Xbox One.

I need to buy this game ASAP.

I will most likely get it this weekend since all my friends are playing it.

this is partially a reason I'm not going to tempt to buy H5 because you expect a lot in return you don't get anything in return.

I am a Halo noob but I decided to buy Halo 5 and the multiplayer is really good!

I've played the campaign and it is fairly decent. After tracking down all the Data Pads (Intels) and Skulls I averaged spending around 15-20 hours of gameplay time just for the campaign. That's a reasonable time to complete the campaign. No DLC needed.

Coming from me, a guy who knows a little about the lore but not a ton, the campaign was okay. As for my friend who is a lore nut, he says the campaign is absolutely miserable to play through because some of the bigger boss fights should have more emphasis.

Onto the campaign length; I think the campaign was a tad short and honestly feel just as or even more disappointed in it than Halo 4's. I like the halo universe but they're making the campaigns worse and worse. I like arena, but the main focus of the game should be the story because that's what drives the lore and the continuation of producing more games.

I haven't seen much campaign DLC for many games so this doesn't surprise me.
