The Star Wars Battlefront open beta will kick off October 8

The Star Wars Battlefront open beta will be upon us in just a couple of weeks.

As previously announced, it will be open to all Origin PC players as well as PS4 and Xbox One users.

It will run from October 8-12 and is a technical test containing three modes across three planets:

Walker Assault on Hoth: Fight in 40-player battles as a Rebel to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, side with the Empire and protect your walkers while utilizing their mighty weaponry to crush the Rebel objective.

Drop Zone on Sullust: Escape pods are crashing down and you and your team must fight to control them. With its frantic 8v8 matches, Drop Zone is sure to put your combat and strategy skills to the test.

Survival Mission on Tatooine: Play alone or with a friend via co-op or split-screen as you battle to hold off waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST’s, TIE fighters, elite stormtroopers and more.

The Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will also be available during the beta only through the official website.

It features the strategic card game Base Command, and lets you earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more in the core game. In addition to Base Command, the Companion also lets players check out game stats and progression, customize load-outs and appearance, connect with friends, and more.

Star Wars Battlefront releases on November 17.

At least this isn't clashing with Knights of the Fallen Empire release! With Battlefront 2, the KOTFE release and the movie release this is oficially Star Wars season!!

I am super excited for the actually game, the beta doesn't seem that great to me because there is nothing new, we have just seen a ton of the same Hoth gameplay, and Tatoonie with the walker assault. I just want to play or seem something new. The game looks amazing but just need some new stuff to keep the hype going for me.

Not really interested in this game. All my time will be used by playing fallout :P I know alot of people who are dying to play this game. Will probably check out videos of it

They need to stop forcing people to use Origin instead of steam. They lose a lot of business simply because people hate being forced to use it.

God bless this i remember the 1st and second ones! They were great i have been looking forward to this game for a long time since i heard the rumors.
