Destiny: The Taken King becomes most downloaded day-one game on PS

4.6
Destiny: The Taken King has become the most downloaded day-one game in PlayStation history, according to Activision.

The expansion was played by more people on launch day than the original Destiny and set a record total players and peak online concurrency.

“Destiny: The Taken King is officially the most downloaded game on day-one in PlayStation history and set a new benchmark for both total Destiny players and peak online concurrency on day-one, so it’s safe to say the Destiny franchise continues to gain momentum,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing.

“Along with our talented partners at Bungie, we cannot wait to watch the community continue to grow and tackle the King’s Fall Raid kicking off on Friday.”

Bungie announced during a livestream earlier this month the King’s Fall raid would release on September 18- which is tomorrow.

Destiny: The Taken King was released this week and is available for PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The Taken King has made Destiny fun again. I am not surprised it has gained Destiny this milestone.

agoon this game is like a shit version of halo. i remember playing it for a couple days and wondering how people actually enjoyed it.

Bro just because you're bad and can't stick with a game because of your attention span of a peanut, doesn't mean it's a bad game.

Erza i thought most destiny players quit i was wrong lol

They did when they finished the first and only five quests, lol. But once the expansions came out, I heard the game got a lot better content wise. Opening up more and allowing more gameplay.

I do think its bad they had to get DLC for game modes to save the game...

They didn't have to. This game never died. There was a small minority of idiotic players (like you) who would constantly post online talking about how they quit, while no one cared because the majority of players who actually enjoy the game just continued playing.

Notice how there's more players after this new DLC than before. If the DLC "saved" the game, it would mean that there wouldn't be as much new players. It would only bring in the people who quit, maybe. But for this DLC to be way bigger than the launch game itself, it didn't save anything.
