Xbox One Experience Preview Test Disables Destiny, Borderlands & More

4.7
Microsoft has started the Xbox One Experience Preview test, and it seems like a number of titles either have problems launching or in-game.

The games include Destiny, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and more. Here is the list of titles that may not launch:

Guacamelee: SCTE
Unmechanical
Elite: Dangerous
Pool Nation FX
D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die
Xbox Fitness
Skylanders
Destiny: The Taken King
Game Compilation Discs: ex. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Saints Row IV.

Other titles may suffer from graphical and technical issues, such as the screen turning blue or purple while playing Forza Motorsport 6, or failure to log in to your character in Elder Scrolls Online. Here is the reported games having similar issues:

Forza 6: You may encounter graphical errors (screen turns a blue or purple hue) when participating in races.
Assassin’s Creed Unity: Installing Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC while the game is open will cause it to crash when the DLC finishes downloading.
Elder Scrolls Online: Logging in to an existing character will cause an error indicating you do not have network connectivity and prevent you from connecting to the server.
Titles with DLC installation issues: You will be unable to install DLC from game collection as no manage UI is present. Simply download the DLC and bundled title from the Store.

You can participate in the Xbox One Experience by registering through the Xbox One Preview app. The New Xbox One Experience is set to launch fully in November, bringing a redesigned UI, backwards compatibility and a new Community section.

Petrucci Everyone changes their opinions of microsoft so suddenly. Its a preview update there will be problems. Don't get so upset.

Exactly. People couldn't have thought a BETA eould be bug free. Its a whole new ui its not going to be perfect. People should be more aware

Hahah, there is never once a time where a BETA is bug free. :P

Yes it is a preview build, but by the time it gets to the point where consumers can test it, It shouldn't prevent the use of games. That is something that should have been ironed out before they rushed a release.

What? That logic is completely wrong in every way. First of all, This build is not for "consumers", this is for the actual "developers" in which the "developer" preview program was intended for. Secondly, Microsoft has stated SEVERAL times that this is for those who are NOT looking for a stable experience and want to help them find bugs that they would not be able to find otherwise internally, which is why they allow you to opt-in/out inthe first place. Testing internally can be extremely limited. With the help of the community of "developers" that opt-in they can gain help from potentially thousands of people, greatly increasing their chances of releasing an as stable as possible build come November. They don't want another dashboard w with loads of problems like the last one so they're taking advantage of their resources and frankly, we should be thanking them.

Okay guys i have a question. I accidently hit to Opt-in but i litterally just bought Destiny this week so is there any way i can Opt-Out cause it just says Pending and wont let me change it.

Okay guys, let's get something understood.

Preview: An inspection of viewing of something before it is generally known/available.

When Xbox One Preview members (emphasis on the preview part) opt-in to this preview-of-a-preview, they are told up front that they are agreeing to software that is unstable, not release quality and therefore may have bugs or may not work at all.

This is early software they are allowing people to test. It is expected to be non-working and/or unstable in some or many areas. This is nothing new. In fact, I would bet that they are opening up testing this early to see if there are any larger bugs that they have not already been found/reported.

TL:DR - Please don't be upset when you hear that preview software isn't working. That's why it's still in testing and not on everyone's Xbox yet. Just because something doesn't work doesn't make Microsoft a horrible company.
