Grand Theft Auto 5 Story DLC Doesn’t Appear likely

4.7
For those who have been anxiously awaiting the story DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5, you’re probably going to be waiting for quite a while longer. We’ve been asking when Rockstar was going to announce the release of some kind of story DLC for a number of months now, but it appears that the story DLC isn’t really being worked on at this point. Rockstar execs recently sat down for a number of interviews and as IGN pointed out, said that story DLC really isn’t in the cards right now.

The company is instead looking at making sure GTA Online is as good as it can possibly be, and we should make no mistake that the mode is actually pretty good and pretty fun in short doses. It should be pointed out though, that no story DLC for a game like this is almost unheard of in this day and age. Still, Rockstar has chosen to go with a more piece-meal approach where they drop a bit of content here and there for the online mode, rather than having a big dump of new content in the form of a new story.

“We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity.” Rockstar’s Design Director Imran Sarwar recently said. That’s bad news when you talk about the number of truly interesting characters that made an appearance in GTA 5. It would be a blast to get to play some more story with those characters as opposed to working new heists in GTA Online.

I think they need to add bonus story DLC, rather than only expanding the online experience

That's **** stupid. I loath the Online community; It's so **** cancerous and cluttered to **** with kids who RDM so I prefer single player.

I think this is good, means that can concentrate on GTA 6 ;)

Qwel To be fair I dont think they would have been able to top the GTA IV story mode DLCs both rich in story and gameplay! Love gta iv story mode DLC's.

What would they have done in gta v? Added a new story mode heist lol.. no thank you

A new location or a heavier backstory would work.. its unlikely they'd take that path though.

As much stuff as is in GTA online currently, I still never had as much fun as I did in GTA 4 online. Nothing beat cops and robbers or looking for a lambo or just hitting jumps at the airport. I think they took so much into detail and forgot a lot of the base features like just simple ramps in open areas

Kind of upsetting considering I hate the online mode and I really loved the story.

ME0W Probably smarter for them to keep making DLC for the multiplayer to keep people interested in it.

DLC for Multi is good and all, but they could make good money for Single Player DLC. A huge expansion could charge people $25. I'd buy it, if it sounded worth it. Instead, they think that giving out 4 new cars every month is worth it.
