Microsoft Looking into Xbox Live Reputation Changes, Info Coming Soon

Many have been complaining about the reputation system on Xbox Live, that is seen as prone to abuse to avoid players or to forcing them into long matchmaking queues.

Luckily, help is on the way, as Director of Program Management Mike Ybarra mentioned on Twitter.

It’ll be interesting to see how Microsoft will solve the issue, but for now we’ll have to stand by and wait for further information.

Actually it does, if ou have bad rep you can only play with other bad repped players which is pretty bad considering they all troll and once ou are there you can't leave.

hi no the rep system does actually do somthing
bad rep = you only play with people with bad rep
meh rep = only people who have meh
Good rep = only play with good rep players

When I still played on xbox I was constantly reported as having bad language and being aggressive, even though I never used a mic outside of party chat. It has been a system that has largely been abused. Even though I still have a "good rep" it is still annoying to be reported for something you aren't doing. I can only assume it is out of pure jealousy or rage. It would be hard to enforce, but there should be consequences for falsely reporting someone.
