YouTube Gaming Launches Today

4.4
For several years now, Twitch has become the dominant leader in livestreaming and especially among the video game community, though Google has been aggressively looking to challenge its throne with the launch of its YouTube Gaming app on the horizon.

Google announced that YouTube Gaming will launch today, providing those either viewing or creating livestreams, Let’s Plays, and other video content surrounding the gaming community with a one-stop shop of sorts for accessing content.

In addition to cataloging and gaming-related content more searchable, YouTube Gaming will also allow users to subscribe to either dedicated game pages or specific YouTube users and channels, and even providing notifications to subscribed users of when a channel will begin a livestream.

YouTube Gaming will automatically collect all gaming-related videos and content while also providing over 25,000 pages dedicated to specific games. Once it launches today, YouTube Gaming will be accessible both through the web and a new iOS and Android mobile app.

YouTube Gaming will launch across web and mobile starting today, August 26th – keep an eye on the service’s official page for when the service officially drops.

lol people saying "can't compete with twitch". Don't forget youtube is google....endless $$$$ plus a huge community already watch time take its cores :P

People are already being screwed over by the Content ID thing. I don't see it lasting very long if they don't do something about it.

From what I've seen people saying about it, it's not very good.

I like the concept of this, but i think it will be pushed aside by twitch.

Yup! I feel like nobody can replace Twitch, to be honest.

_Skittle I honestly think that this wont work in Google's favour, twitch is completely dominating the live gaming scene and I highly doubt that will change.
