Xbox One Has A Stronger CPU Than PS4 – Ark: Survival Evolved Developer

4.6
Ever since the advent of current gen console, there has been much confusion regarding which console has the faster CPU. Microsoft had nothing to hide regarding the clock speed of the Xbox One’s CPU. In the past Microsoft have done several updates to the console’s SDK, bringing the CPU clock speed to 1.75 ghz. Sony on the other hand hasn’t revealed any official numbers regarding the PS4 CPU clock speed. It has been rumored that the clock speed of the PS4 CPU is 1.6ghz with the capability to max out at 2.75 Ghz. However this does not seem to be the case.
In an interview with Jesse Rapczak, who is the founder of Studio Wildcard, developer of Ark: Survival Evolved revealed to GamingBolt that Xbox One’s CPU is better than PS4’s. Here is an excerpt from an interview conducted by GamingBolt’s Leonid Melikhov.

“Both platforms are relatively easy to develop for to be honest. The PS3 and Xbox 360 days, Xbox 360 was the clear winner there because of the tools and the architecture. PS3 was so different, required a lot of specialized expertise to create good content and good optimization for. But now the tools are really good, the platforms are really honestly very similar and some things that the Xbox is better the PlayStation is stronger in other areas.”

“One thing that I will say that is very interesting is that our game is limited by CPU for rendering right now. A lot of people know that the Xbox has a stronger CPU than the PS4. That’s not to say that it runs better on the Xbox or PlayStation, but the PlayStation having a little bit more powerful GPU is offset by the fact that our game requires a lot of CPU to run well. It’s kind of a balance between the two right now for different reasons.”

However, it’s interesting to note that Jesse acknowledges that PS4 does indeed have a better GPU which kind of balances everything out between the two consoles.
Ark: Survival Evolved is due for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in June, 2016. Stay tuned for our full interview with Jesse in the coming days.

This is not bad, But to be honest it does not really bother me what is what, Its just the same old competition between Xbox and PS, They always wants to see who is better.

-urzx That's what I'm talkin about. Xbox one is way better than PS4. About time the developers start coming out telling us the truth. All of you PS4 fan boys are mad now. Microsoft is king and always will be, and Bill Gates is God.

10/10 would troll again. LORD GABEN >Bill Gates :)

You're clearly out of the loop on the PCMR thing. "Lord Gaben" is no longer respected since the paid mod incident earlier this year. We no longer praise him. He dances around questions and disrespected much of the PC community when he did his AMA on reddit too.

No one praised nor worshiped him before except for a handful of neck beards in that cesspool of a subreddit. It was all a joke that too many of you seem to have taken seriously. What sucks is the fact that those few neck beards make all of us PC gamers look bad.

Both consoles are using the same processor. A low end AMD Jaguar that has 4 cores, both consoles use 2 Jaguars so that is 8 cores. Though cores doesnt matter especially when AMD has the lowest per core performance. This also doesn't address the fact the CPU they are using is literally a processor designed for tablets and laptops. The PS4 has a better GPU, though still a very bad GPU. Once again both developers chose AMD, the lowest performance per watt in gpus, and hard to cool. The PS4 uses a Radeon 7850, from 2011, and the xbox, a Radeon 7750, also from 2011. Yet both consoles came out in 2013, almost 2014 actually, since it was november. The next gen consoles are the worst console to release. At this current time these consoles are so much farther behind PC than the last gen was for its time. Sad, a huge waste of money because you could literally spend the same amount of money on PC and it will be better.

RepPower There really isnt that much of a difference. Doesnt matter if this console is better than the other. We're still getting the same game on different consoles

Yeah I will have to say the same.

Respect this a lot. I agree.

Kura Thought people knew this already? & Quite excited for PC games to be ported over to see how they work and run.

I would say alot of PC games that come to console kinda end up flopping pretty hard, remember when they brought counter strike to the 360 LOL everyone was hyped for like 1 day and then after that I never heard about it again.
