Xbox One wireless controller adapter only works with Windows 10

4.7
The newly announced wireless Xbox One controller adapter for Windows won’t just work with any version of the OS. At least not officially.

You can already use any Xbox One controller with Windows, but it will have to be wired. If you want to free yourself from cables, Microsoft has announced a new adapter yesterday that will help you do just that.

There’s one catch though, it only works with Windows 10. That’s according to a Microsoft representative speaking to Polygon.

The news is not at all surprising when you look at the way the company has been positioning Windows 10 as a gaming platform, and one that brings the Xbox experience to PC. That being said, there’s always the possibility that the community will step up and devise a way for those without a copy of Windows 10 to use the adapter.

Won't take too long for someone to make an un-official one, I wouldn't get too worried.
