Xbox One May update now in beta, multitasking and voice messaging

4.7
The latest Xbox One update’s gone into beta testing.

The beta for the Xbox One’s May system software update has arrived. As well as fixing a couple of issues, you can now multitask and leave voice messages while in a party.

Find an existing preview member if you want to take a look. Swear them your fealty to get an invite. Or just ask very nicely.

DETAILS
OS version released: xb_rel_1505.150416-2000
Available: 12:00PM PT 4/19 (8PM GMT 19/4)

NEW EXPERIENCES
Voice Messages while in a Party. With this update, you can now leave voice messages while in a Party. Previously, you had to leave a Party to leave a voice message.

FIXES
US/CA USB TV Tuner Channel Scanning. We received reports that the US/CA Digital TV Tuner would not correctly scan for channels. This has been resolved in this update.

KNOWN ISSUES
Party app Voice Commands (initial screen only). When launching the Party app, voice commands will not function on the Party app’s first menu screen (ie. saying “Xbox Select”, followed by “Start a party” or “Learn more”).

Was voice messaging never implemented from the Xbox One?

I always wondered why we haven't had this yet

Sanctyy You had toleave a party to send a voice message? That's pretty stupid, that should have been possible ages ago, not in an update over a year after the console was released.

In my personal opinion, I do not find voice messages to be very practical. The only time I have ever used them is to send a M2AF or something. If I want to talk to someone I'd rather just invite them to a party for a few minutes.

Honestly though, this kind of thing should have been a part of the OS ages ago like you said.

Pryzel Wow, never even noticed voice messages, but now that I have I guess I will use them more. It's also nice to see Microsoft bring out new updates so often. Fairplay to them for that.

Majority of updates should be with the security of their servers tho...

Sorry what's wrong with their "Servers" security? hahaha.

bdgr i really think they need to just do some fat update and release everything ffs.

How would that be benefit at all? as oppose to frequent updates that resolve bugs quickly you would prefer for them to fix many issues but wait 6 months for it? moron...
