Call of Duty Online Beta Gameplay

4.5
Here’s an interesting one for any avid Call of Duty fan that may have heard of but never seen the Chinese free-to-play Call of Duty Online from Activision, Tencent, and Raven Software in action.

The shooter, which is a micro-transaction-based melting pot of Call of Duty titles ranging from the original Modern Warfare to Black Ops 2, is currently in Open Beta in China only. So, while it might not be of much concern to you, we’re pretty sure you’re at least a little curious to know what it looks like and how it plays.

Luckily, Giant Bomb managed to get the beta up and running on one of their own PCs and were able to record the first half an hour of progress made through training and through a few of the game’s various modes, including multiplayer (we think — it could just be bots) and Robot Zombies. As expected, nothing is in English, so consider it an exotic, unguided tour of a mystical Call of Duty game in a far off land.

Have a look at the gameplay below and see what you can recognize. If you’re a long-time fan of the series, we’re sure you’ll get a kick out of it.

Musket This cod game looks pretty good, Cant wait to give it a try.

I don't think you will be able unless you have a valid city, name, and Identification. Some Chinese games have this and I think this is one. I know Korean games require KSSN's, and some Chinese games require an ID. Not sure, but I think you're able to generate (generator) one.

AR15 I really wish that this game had servers up in the US and I would be playing it right now. I can't handle playing from a Chinese server that gives me 500+ ping though, sorry.

Yea the ping is way too high, there needs o be some north american servers put up.

I have to agree. I really enjoyed playing this game because of all the great weapons and maps that they brought back, but I do not like having to deal with super high pings as well as lags since the servers are in China and what not.

You all do understand that this game was set up in China and, technically, is not even out for the U.S in a sense of it being publicly released here? I highly doubt whoever it is that made the servers are going to set up servers half-way across the world when it won't benefit them.

A full other country of users that will be playing their game would not benefit them? Please explain.

DawkdaDallazz I would pay $60 dollars for this but Activision only knows how to make terrible decisions and made this region exclusive. I hope if they bring this to North America, they don't f it up. I know they'll find a way somehow.

How retarded are you? Call of Duty isn't available in China, so they're only giving them what they've been missing out on since 2006. Ignorant people don't even deserve to get what they want.

China has a strict censorship on everything internet wise :/ Many companies also don't like China's policies (like giving the Chinese government the source code for software that a product runs) but China's market is just too big to ignore. China's a communist country with increasingly capitalistic values
