Report: Steam to host annual Holiday Sale on December 18

4.7
It appears that Steam's annual Holiday Sale promotion will begin on December 18, assuming you trust Reddit users and the claims of PayPal Japan.

A few days ago, word began to circulate online that a number of Japanese PayPal users had received an email from the money exchange revealing the December 18 launch. This remained a rumor until a Reddit user shared the email he had received which, when translated, does mention that the sale will arrive next week, specifically on December 18 at 6PM GMT, and that it will run through January 2. No details on the sale's discounts are mentioned. Eurogamer backs this claim, saying that it has "been able to verify that this date is correct, as well as the timing and sale ending details above."

Though it would make sense for the sale to start on December 18 - the timing of the annual promotion is right and it would coincide with the planned end of the Steam Holiday Auction - our attempts to reach Valve for confirmation have so far gone unanswered.

The sales on Steam are amazing. Why can't Microsoft do sales like this more often?
