Member Review: Apple Magic Mouse

4.6
The Magic Mouse was first introduced in 2009 by Apple for use with most Apple products, it is a multi-touch mouse. The Magic Mouse was the first consumer grade mouse with multi-touch capabilities. The Magic Mouse allows the use of gestures including swiping and scrolling across the top surface. It connect to the device via Bluetooth and runs on 2 AA batteries. Apple kindly bundles these into the box. The Magic Mouse requires OSX 10.5.8 and above, it uses laser tracking for increased pointer accuracy over the previous generation of Apple mice.

The Magic Mouse really is one of the best things I have ever used to control a computer, it has been really very well designed for use with iMacs. The gestures really do help in everyday tasks such as Web browsing and Photo Editing. The laser sensor hasn't put a foot wrong and is very accurate. The battery life is out of this world and still using the original batteries after 2 years. I have used many mice in the past, but nothing feels as natural as the Magic Mouse to use on a daily basis, it is very comfortable to use for long periods of time, it falls into your hand like it was meant to be. The only slight problem i have found with it is that after using it for lengthy periods it can cause your hand to sweat due to the glossy top surface of the mouse, but this is just a small negative point and nothing that should put off potential buyers.

Pictures/Professional pictures:

Gestures include:
Click
Two button click
360-scroll
Screen zoom
Screen pan
Two-finger Swipe
One finger swipe
Two finger double tap
One finger double tap

Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Looks outstanding
Very nice laser tracking
Battery life
Touch controls are very well designed
Very hard wearing

Cons:
Quite pricey
Only one-click button
Can feel small if you have larger hands

I was like all you lot saying waste of money or not really needed I got my normal mouse, but i used one for a couple days while working somewhere, and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After stop using the mouse and going back to a normal mouse I felt like I had withdrawal symptoms I was getting annoyed because i could switch between screens with a single flick of the finger or rotating. But it was annoying only having one area to click but two finger click still works, but rubbish for games.

Yeah it does look like a money pit, but it still looks pretty neat. I would still buy!

Ache They're just looking for more and more ways to make more money.

A "magic mouse" seems pretty pathetic to me, I wouldn't buy it...

I totally agree with this guy

Nuka I don't own a Mac, but when I was in my Graphics Design class and everybody had a Mac to use (And one of these, of course) it was honestly a very nice mouse, so nice to use.

I've always found that the Magic Mouse is really sensitive and I made too many accidental clicks. I prefer running on Windows for my graphics designing, personally but I actually found this was worse than Apple's regular mouse.
