Rockstar 'urgently investigating' GTA Online account transfer issues

4.4
Rockstar is "urgently" investigating issues Grand Theft Auto Online players are having transferring account data from the last-gen versions of the game to the recently released Xbox One and PS4 editions.

The company said on the support section of its website that the problem is affecting some players who haven't played GTA Online since 2013.

"We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven't played GTA Online since 2013.

"If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks for your patience."

The new-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V launched on Tuesday.

Xbox 360 and PS3 players should be able to transfer their GTA Online characters and progression to their choice of the Xbox One or PS4 versions of the game, or to the PC one when it releases in January.

The new-gen versions of GTA Online also support an increased player count of 30.

Rockstar said last week that the long-delayed GTA Online Heist missions will be introduced in the first update pushed out following the game's Xbox One and PS4 release.

I got the game digitally and played last night at midnight. I tranfsered my profile (I have played in 2014) and I played GTA Online for 2 hours then when I went back online today and its not letting me on GTA Online I get a message that my Transfer request is being processed even though I played for 2 hours already. They need to fix these issues quickly

xsuperxsmashx Im starting to think these game devs just dont care anymore. Cod is still broken, halo mcc is practically f'ed beyond repair atm and now this is just the start of the problems for gta.

I understand what your trying to say, but if you think about it nothing is perfect and the devs test the games obviously before release but theres issues which they obviously don't see. You just have to give them time, all the games you mentioned are brilliant games but just improving and this will be done overtime.

Inq I totally understand your perspective and don't want to discount what you are saying, however...What these developers are doing is NOT RIGHT, selling half finished games to consumers so you can cash in during the holidays and then fix it later is not a pattern that can continue. November has undoubtedly been a great...and disappointing month for gamers. We've received 3 AAA titles for 3 consecutive weeks and each has issues that the developer(s) should have caught well before consumers got their hands on their copies. If developers truly cared about the product they are shipping, you would see AAA titles release year round.

To the readers: If this is an issue that concerns you, continue to raise awareness and voice your opinions with your wallets. I love the gaming industry and we are all very fortunate to have this level of entertainment available to us, but we can't continue to let developers make these some mistakes year after year because they know that like addicts...we all have to get our fix.

Rant over. Happy Holidays everyone!

The thing is, the grounds developers are treading on right now are completely new and they're gonna need more time to, well, develop.

Oasis Can't believe people bought this game after its 'first release'.
Come on people wake up and stop funding these **** games.

Stop funding R*? Hahahaha. GTA is the king of sandbox games going head to head with Red Dead, which is also made by R*. They aren't **** games. It just has its problems like other games did.

Toot toot!

All aboard the hype train! Next stop Denial.
