CoD Advanced Warfare patch to include bug fixes, connectivity issues

4.6
Sledgehammer Games has provided an overview of an upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare update.

Expanding on a list of planned improvements detailed last week, Sledgehammer co-founder and studio head Michael Condrey said the patch will include a number of bug fixes and connectivity optimisations:

Update overview:

Prestige reset issues, including emblems and challenges.
Adjustment to the in-game chat names notifications placement.
Fix for weapon reloads counting as speed reloads in certain circumstances.
Connectivity optimizations.
Fix for stats accumulating towards leaderboards after prestiging.
Adjustment to challenges to unlock Camos for weapons.
Fix for round-based game modes, affecting Win/Loss ratios.
Implemented ability to unlock eSports Rule options in Private Match.

Condrey also shared the following statement from Activision on the status of dedicated server support for the game:
Advanced Warfare employs game servers hosted at data centers globally on all platforms and listen servers as part of our proprietary matchmaking system. Our goal is to ensure the best possible connection and greatest gameplay experience regardless of location and time of day.

Hopefully the short list that has been announced isn't all that SledgeHammer plan to address, as there is a fair bit more that could do with tweaking, from weapons, to knifing, to glitch spots and even the prestige glitch. As for the whole connection matter, I haven't had any issues on Xbox 360 myself, and I have abysmal internet speeds. Hopefully in regards to the camouflage balancing, they cut the main two (Long shots/Hip fires and Headshots) down a fair amount as 500 is far too unreasonable.

Miss Dedicated servers, nuff said.

At no point did Mr. Condrey use the word "dedicated"...is this when we become skeptical? And I'm glad to hear their goal "is to ensure the best possible connection and greatest gameplay experience regardless of location and time of day", but just because you shoot for the moon doesn't mean you will land among the stars. See everyone tonight on Halo.

This patch needs to come out soon, this is game breaking lag. Also, they need to fix the games played bug, too.

Sounds great! Looks like they're definitely addressing the big issues. If the connection is fixed the game will be 1000x better. The game is tons of fun but at times it was almost unplayable. Can't wait for this!

-Skittle They really need to fix the connection issues first, this makes the game unplayable
