Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Dev Responds to Titanfall "Ripoff"

4.5
You have Bungie's Halo 2 to thank for the multiplayer experiences of Call of Duty and Titanfall, according to current Halo-stewards 343 Industries' executive producer Dan Ayoub.

Speaking to VG24/7 today, Ayoub commented, “Going back and doing Halo 2 has been a tremendous amount of fun for me because I always talk about my personal experience with the first Halo game and that was the game that showed me you could have a good first-person shooter on console."

He went on to say that Halo 2's multiplayer on him and its influence can be seen to this day in the likes of Call of Duty and Titanfall, “I look at games today like Titanfall, Call of Duty – all of these games owe their multiplayer experiences to Halo 2. So I just have a romanticised view of it. In my mind it’s perfect.”

"No matter how hard you try and try, people will always be convinced that Advanced Warfare is a ripoff of Titanfall," someone on Twitter wrote to Condrey. He replied, "Not worried about it. When people play it in November, it will speak for itself."

Halo 2 is set for re-release as part of the Master Chief Collection which launches on November 11th in North America and on November 14th in Europe for Xbox One.

its funny how people say it ripps off titanfall. when they were both in development in 2011. also the people who helped made titanfall were part of infinity ward.

sawnoff_shotfun i wish infinity ward would make some sort of american Civil War cod or something but that obviously wouldn't be enough to satisfy the 11 year old morbidly obese ADHD audience

Wtf does ADHD have to do with anything like this, **** sick.

I and all of my friends agree that this next CoD looks like the best one since Modern Warfare. They have a lot of hype to live up to now but I believe they pulled this off perfectly.

Lounge Advanced warfare will be very different from Titanfall. Only one feature i see the same is the double jump thing.

And this is an incredibly new feature for this franchise. The only reason double jump is in this game is because of AW's exosuits. CoD2015 won't feature double jump unless there is some massive demand for it's return, but who knows, it (exosuits) really speed up the gameplay making this one of the fastest games I've ever seen.
Concepts aren't born in a single day for any game, so nobody is essentially ever meaning to "copy" someone else. Two companies just so happen to have a similar feature and suddenly everyone wants to look for hate. I'm excited for AW and loved playing the little I could earlier this summer. My pre-order is set and my body is ready for this awesomeness this fall.

I would kind of agree. Everyone seems to be heading to this more futuristic game type. I just wish Call of Duty could go back to the good old days like Cod4
