Video: Xbox chief: Minecraft will continue on PlayStation, mobile

4.6
When word spread last week that Microsoft was considering a purchase of Mojang and its gaming titan Minecraft, fans were concerned about the game's future. Would Minecraft become an Xbox exclusive? Would it be locked to Windows Phones going forward? In a video discussing the acquisition, Xbox chief Phil Spencer said that Microsoft would continue to help develop Minecraft on all the platforms that made it a $2.5 billion brand in the first place.

Thank god Microsoft made a good move with their new purchase.

This was expected, Microsoft would be stupid to pull Minecraft away from Playstation. What we will see is Xbox getting exclusive updates, etc.

Well this is certainly good to see, Minecraft is an absolutely huge game and fans will be outraged to see it just pulled from everything but Xbox. When you think of it, Microsoft will make a lot more money this was as well so it's really a win win situation for all parties involved

That's smart of them. They would have lost so many players if they made it an exclusive.

Doesn't affect me at all, I'm glad everyone can still enjoy it

Glad they are keeping it available on all consoles. I just hope they continue to improve the game and don't let it die out.
