Microsoft Teases Big Xbox One Surprises at Gamescom

4.5
Microsoft's recently released teaser for the Xbox One is bound to surprise a lot of people at Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

With PlayStation 4 outselling the Xbox One, Microsoft was given the chance to make its presence felt at the 2014 Gamescom to boost sales in the European market.

The 2014 Gamescom will be held from Aug. 11 through Aug. 15 in Cologne. The event will officially start on Aug. 4 with the worldwide reveal of the multiplayer mode of "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare."

Considering that Activision, developers of the "Call of Duty" franchise, and Microsoft have a long-running partnership, a heavy Xbox One presence is expected, according to Inquisitr.

Microsoft's Xbox briefing will begin at 8 a.m. on Aug. 5.

The briefing and multiplayer reveal will be shown live on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox.com and Windows Phone. The event and after-presentation details will be also livestreamed by the Xbox Twitch channel all throug the week.

Games that were previously announced for released in fall will reveal further details at the conference. The list of games set to be shown are "Forza Horizon 2," "Halo: the Master Chief Collection," "Sunset Overdrive," "Evolve," "FIFA 15," Project Spark," "Killer Instinct: Season 2" and "Call of Duty."

After intentionally missing the E3 games conference, Remedy Entertainment will preview "Quantum Break," an upcoming third-person action game exclusive to the Xbox One.

There's a slight possibility that "Fable Legends," "Scalebound" and "D4" will also be announced. Some games made by independent developers such as "Ori and the Blind Forest" and "Below" are more likely to be revealed.

There might also be an announcement for a white Xbox One to be released as the color was exclusive only to employees working on the console.

The performance of the Xbox One at Gamescom will determine the future of the platform. Though PlayStation 4 is leading in sales, the distance between the two is not alarmingly far apart.

I just hope they do release a white console. That'd be their best thing yet with the One.

SuperrOwl MS need to push COD to the back. Only the 12 year olds care about it.

Did you just fly in from stupid town?

Call of Duty is one of the most played games in the world, you may want to re-consider you're statement.

Well it's not like you can deny that it is loosing popularity/public interest at an alarming rate

I understand that, but it also shatters records each year in November when it gets released.

Well i guess you could say that. But correct me if i'm wrong, call of duty hasn't broken it's own sales record since MW3

No it won't considering games com doesn't even start till next week. Another terrible copy and and paste news post, at least proof read before you post.

lol, TTG and reading don't mix. It took me a while to get used to the spamming and stupidity of this website.

All they do is copy and paste. I'm surprised the people that actually write these articles aren't getting pissed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's getting sick of it.

I know they credit their sources but everything they steal seems to be bias or factually wrong. Instead of posting someone else's story they should just quote the story direct, as in, if Microsoft said something, show us a ms blog/post/site with it on don't just give some bs second/third hand information. It's just embarrassing.

That is true and especially for a website as large as TTG.

Its also aggravating me.

A few years back the feedback was always taken on board but these days you just get accused of hating on TTG. Why would people like us bother posting if we didn't give a shit.

Time for TTG to step its game up. It has paid members, adverts and no doubt some outside funding so let's see that money spent on useful things. Factually correct and unbiased reviews news and info should just be the start.

I think they need to focus on more games other-than CoD.
Sure, it's a well selling AAA Franchise but they need to bring other games to the front.
Evolve and Forza Horizon 2 could be big contenders tbh.

The Halo collection will be huge.
