Iron Banner challenges return to Destiny Beta

4.5
Heads up, Destiny level-cappers -- you've got a new challenge waiting for you. Bungie is reintroducing Iron Banner challenges in a series of special Crucible events throughout this weekend, giving Beta veterans an incentive to take on new competition.

To unlock the Iron Banner challenges, players must first visit Lord Saladin in Destiny's Tower hub area. Afterward, the Iron Banner can be accessed in a separate playlist within the Crucible. Make sure to hunt down some quality gear in the game's campaign mode first; Iron Banner matches do not place limits on player equipment, making your weapon and armor power levels key components to victory.

Matches take place across 'Rusted Lands' on Earth, 'First Light' on the Moon, 'Shores of Time' on Venus, and 'Blind Watch' on Mars, with special awards and gear available for players who advance in rank. Iron Banner events will be held today from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m PDT, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Challenges will also be available tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Bungie: How do we impress players? We make a limited time challenge, completely achievable bounty's, the highest ramp in difficulty ever, (rank 1-100/rank 2-1,200 -n-...) and then we DROP THE **** BALL ON OUR SERVERS SO NOONE CAN ACCESS THE IRON BANNER UNTIL THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE **** TIME LIMIT!
Way to go bungie

Polygon I'm already Iron Banner rank 1.
Got myself a really nice cape.

Next game in 30 mins!
I really hope all of this time hasn't gone to waste.
Bungie need to carry stats over.

I completely agree I hope that we get to keep our created characters and all their stuff in the full game.

It would kinda defeat the purpose of the mission playing until level 5 though to get 'used' to the game if people were already above that at release.. but idk

But if you've played the beta, and done all that, why do it all again when the actual game comes out?

Despite what most people think, a beta is used to find bugs and stress test servers. Its not just to play the game early.

They shouldnt've given us iron banner then

After playing the beta I don't think I'm going to go through and purchase the game. I was looking forward to the game as well. It just feels like they're trying to be too much like Halo.

Looks great, good idea, the beta doesn't look bad wasn't able to try it unfortunately.

The beta is sick, glad I had the opportunity to play it
