Kinect 2.0 finds a home on PC July 15

4.4
The Kinect 2.0 may have split from the Xbox One, but it will be ready to find new love with PC partners soon. A Microsoft Store listing highlights a July 15 release date for the Xbox logo-less, PC-compatible 3D camera, meaning we can put Xbox head Phil Spencer's belief that people will still buy the Kinect to the test as soon as next week.

The PC version of the Kinect 2 boasts a price tag of a not-insignificant $200 - $100 more than the price difference between a Kinect-less Xbox One and an Xbox One with the peripheral pack-in.

yes that what it seems to be. i coudnt see having one without the xbox one

Kart Who would pay $200 for this bumped up webcam.
Microsoft needs to stop looking like idiots with their prices or else people gonna be laughing when they drop the prices of all their stuff 3months after its out and they realize they messed up

Do y'all even know what kinect is? It has some amazing 3d image perception technology behind it. It's being used to build drone that can fly through a 3d obstacle course easy peasy. it's not just a webcam, its much more and definitely deserves the $200 price tag.

yeah but who is actually going to use it foe everything you have just said.
because If I got one I would only know how to use it as a web cam. rather buy an eye toy play haha

Sounds like a neat idea, I'm interested to see how it will turn out.

Surely I can buy an adapter for the one I already have? It would make a great webcam for my PC.

Hopefully they can make an adapter for the Kinect that comes with the Xbox One, then I may actually have a use for mine.

If I didn't want to buy the Xbone because of a forced camera with no light saying when it's on, why the hell would I want it on my computer either?!?!? Sure it's got cool features but come on, the camera is bulky and huge compared to whats on the market and offers cheaper value for same resolution.
