Destiny Will Hit 1080p and 30FPS on Xbox One Following Latest Back-End

4.5
Developer Bungie aims to bring Destiny up to a 1080p resolution output on the Xbox One following the release of the console’s latest software development kit.

It will still run at 30 frames-per-second, but the boost in resolution is reportedly attributed to the 10% increase in GPU power since last week’s back-end update on Microsoft’s console, Geoff Keighley was able to find out:

After @xboxp3 interview I've been asking devs about impact of new Xbox sdk on perf. Bungie says it will get Destiny to 1080p/30fps on XB1.

It’s not clear what sort of performance milestones Bungie was aiming for before the update, but it is clear that the GPU power initially reserved for the Xbox One’s Kinect sensor will now help boost the game’s pixel count on the console instead.

Miss Why can't it be 60fps?! Not a fan of the same fps as 360.

What's it matter 30 FPS or 60 FPS? You can barely tell a difference. The gameplay will still be very smooth, as long as they lock it at 30 FPS.

you can deffenently tell between 30 and 60 fps. When i play bf3 then go back to cod the way it runs soooo much smoother not saying theing look better just smoother.

locked 30 FPS runs better than unlocked 60 fps with constant frame drops.

That's cool that there will finally be a 1080p game but it sucks that on the "Newer" tech can't run on 60fps

pretty much no point, Diablo graphics are that good so wont make a difference

Does that mean Diablo 3 will run at 1080p as well because currently the devs said it is only going to be 900p.

It's sad that consoles have limited hardware because of the firmware. 1080p should be a standard for gaming, not something that is revolutionary on a "next-gen" console.

Maggardo I don't see how people can tell the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS. 30FPS, and 60FPS looks the same to me.

Really? You don't notice a difference? http://30vs60fps.com/

It's a major difference when you're actually playing, of course.

Since when does graphics matter so much now? I'm pretty sure I play a game to play the game.. Visuals are a bonus

FPS is not graphics. It's performance. And it matters an s-ton
