Watch Dogs on PC to receive performance patch

4.5
The recent release, Watch Dogs, has been bogged down with not so stellar performance on quite a few gaming configurations but there is hope for those experiencing issues. The title's technical director, Sebastien Viard, has made it clear in the past that those on the PC in order to have a stellar experience on the game to be rocking an i7 processor and as graphics card with at least 2GB of dedicated RAM. He has announced a stability patch with no set release date yet intended to lower these lofty requirements for those of us without such intensive setups. We'll keep you updated about this upcoming performance patch!

FCBarcalona My god! 2GB's of dedicated, That's crazy! I have 64MB hahaha

64MB? Are you living in the 90s? 2GB is the bare standard these days.

2gb is not standared in laptops witch by the ammout he specified im guessing thats the case. go to bestbuy the most expensive laptop there MIGHT have 128mb of graphics memory unless its a alienware or somthing.

Not really lol. Most laptops will use integrated graphics, which will use the same RAM that the CPU uses. There are new gaming laptops with 4GB of VRAM.

People be livin in da 90s

Not really. GRAM in Laptops goes by the stock models main RAM module. For example. If a laptop comes stock with 2GB RAM the Dedicated VRAM will be around 256mb to 512mb of that.

A laptop with over 512mb of VRAM is expensive and uncommon, games like this are made for high end desktops with modern GPUs which are all majority over 1gb of GDDR5 nowadays.

I have yet to get this game, however a few of my friends have posted screenshots on Steam where like cars go half way under the road, loading screens bug out a lot where it just looks clustered with a bunch of grey with whatever was behind it being cut off and all that. Don't know if that is because of them not having what is said to be required for Watch Dogs or if it's just glitches happening.

DynamicBomb Why wasn't is tested better in the first place? I think i am going to buy an xbox one as a pc capable of running watch dogs is going to have to have an i7 etc.

Capable of running Watch Dogs? nonononono. You can run it with much less.

I honestly think the "technical director" is just talking out of his ass.
