Microsoft to offer five free Xbox games for June's Games with Gold

As Microsoft promised earlier in May, owners of the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One consoles will be able to download a total of five free games in June if they are paid Xbox Live Gold subscribers. June will be the first month that Xbox One users will be able to access those games.

The Xbox Wire website reports that from June 1-15, Xbox 360 owners can download Dark Souls, the acclaimed fantasy RPG from developer From Software and publisher Namco Bandai that was first released in 2011. It normally costs $19.99 to download the game from Xbox Live. From June 16-30, Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download two free titles: the side-scroller Charlie Murder, normally priced at $9.99, and Capcom's fighting game Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, which usually costs $29.99.

Xbox One owners will have to wait until later in June to get their two free games due to the need to release a system update for the console to accommodate the changes. Once that's done, these two complementary titles will be released in June: the top down shooter Halo: Spartan Assault, normally priced at $9.99, and the side-scroller Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, which usually costs $14.99. Microsoft has not yet announced exactly when the two games will be free to download.

So an update evry month, adding features that the fans want and giving us free games is their last priority? there's only so much they can do at once, they never really had to add the battery level for the conroller, the coulda said f**k them but they didnt becuase their fans wanted it, the games that will be coming out soon will be better than ever because you have to be a member of gold to get them, if your subscription expires you cant play the game, buy they are only doing that so they can give us better and more expensive games for free :D

I have just waited two months for nothing can't they just release it on the 1st like x360 if it needs an update that's fine just have it ready for the first FFs

Having access to five games is great. With that being said these games don't seem as good as previous games with gold in my opinion. But never the less, free games; who can complain.

nblz meh the only game i would download from this list is darksouls, but i heard you die quite often and you just have to keep on dying till you remember what moves to make.


Yeah, I jumped into Dark Souls 2 not knowing what to expect. You have to learn attack patterns and what not of all the different enemies and what to use, and whats best effective. It's fun once you get used to it.


Dark Souls is not a hard game you just have to pay attention which seems to be difficult for people. Once you learn the moves of the bosses (which you can do somewhat fast, or youtube it) it is a cake walk to beat them.
