Xbox One Controller Drivers For Windows PC Coming “Very Soon”

PC users more comfortable with the dual-analog controller for their gaming needs can look forward to some interesting news from Microsoft ‘very soon.’

Windows PC drivers for the Xbox One’s controller are coming “Soon. Very Soon.” said Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb in a response to this NeoGAF post.

Xbox One controller compatibility for PC was initially touted last year for release some time in 2014. Currently, many PC users are settling on the Xbox 360 controller as their weapon of choice, but those looking to upgrade to Microsoft’s newest input device with ‘over 40 improvements‘ can look forward to the incoming news.

The upcoming drivers will allow all existing Xbox One controllers to plug into a PC via USB. Stay tuned for more news soon!

Beet Really the only reason you would ever use a controller on pc is for games with bad ports for PC like dark souls. The keyboard and mouse are just so much better for 99% of games.


Well some people actually prefer a controller over mouse and keyboard. I Know i do. But then again i only play indie titles or rpgs(such as fallout and elder scrolls). I cant even begin to imagine octodad without a controller. even somebig youtubers out their typically use controllers also(Markiplier using one alot). But im actually excited to this as ive been using my ps3 controller to play and cant wait to use my xbox one controller


Most games are better and more precise with the mouse and keyboard. Take counter-strike for example. If you play counter strike on pc with a controller you will die a lot. Most mobas, RPG and RTS games you need mouse and keyboard as a controller just would not work.

It is not that simple to make a driver. Microsoft also got other stuff to handle too. They don't just waste their time on one thing.

Been waiting a while to get my hands on a PC compatible Xbone controller. The Xbone controller looks to be a far better, more comfortable controller than the 360 one.

I've done that for some PC games with my wired Xbox controller. Like I remember doing that on CoD: WaW.
