The previously announced Doom beta will only be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Access to the beta is available by pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order. Those who do so for Xbox platforms will receive Xbox One beta access, those who do so for PlayStation consoles will receive PS4 access, while PC pre-orders will grant PC beta access.

An Xbox Live Gold membership is required for the Xbox One beta, but a PS Plus subscription is not necessary for the PS4 one.

In a new FAQ, Bethesda said it's working with Steam, Microsoft and Sony to ensure digital pre-order customers will also receive beta access.

"Although you'll receive the Doom beta key code with your copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, the Doom beta won't begin until a later, yet-to-be announced date," it added. "We will be providing more information on the specific content and duration of the beta test at a later time."

Last month, Bethesda brought forward the European and Australian Wolfenstein: The New Order release date to Tuesday May 20, 2014 to coincide with the game's North American launch.
