A new update and coinciding Skin Pack for Minecraft on PS3 brings iconic PlayStation characters to the cult sandbox game.

The new Skin Pack adds skins for Nathan Drake of Uncharted fame, along with various characters from Heavy Rain, Killzone and Sly cooper.

A second skin pack, the Battle and Beasts Pack, brings less iconic characters; koalas, a Cleopatra look-a-like, various cavemen, and an octopus, according to Mojang's Owen Hill.

An update also released for the game brings various new content and gameplay tweaks. According to Hill, Emeralds, Ender Chests and Zombie Villagers, now feature.


In addition, "cauldrons fill up in the rain, wolf collars can be dyed [and] pigs drop more porkchops," he explained.

An new City Texture pack will also "give your creations a more clean, clinical look," which is also newly arrived alongside a Plastic Texture pack. Screenshots of the new content are in the gallery above.

The Xbox One version of Minecraft will launch soon, according to Microsoft's newly appointed head of Xbox Phil Spencer.
