Microsoft "looking into" Xbox One headset adapter complaints

4.6
Microsoft has acknowledged complaints from gamers using their recently released Xbox One headset adapter, these various issues seem to stem from voice chat functionality on some older headsets. The official Xbox forums and other gaming hubs have been littered with complaints regarding the adapter, the bulk of these issues involve older Turtle Beach and Astro headsets. The various user reports declare that both in-game audio and Skype call work just fine, yet distortion is experience in party chat.

We've heard about a small number of users experiencing intermittent issues. We're actively investigating and are working on a resolution.Microsoft

The Xbox One headset adapter was released this month in order to facilitate Xbox One gamers to utilize their Xbox 360 headsets with their new Xbox console. The device can be purchased from most major retailers for $24.99.

YhCHKN I don't see why they couldn't just have the same mic input as the 360 controller.
Just to make more money? Pathetic.

Exactly. The 360 one was perfect.

It seems like they just over complicate a lot of things when it comes to the next gen.

They need to do something about it, and soon.

Pathetic. How so? Maybe the mic input isn't compatible with the Xbox One controller.

Invictus I'm having problems with my x12s.

Not f#*k#*g surprised! Talk about ancient.

Why. Why. Why do people not understand that the new audio set up on the x1 allows for faster more high quality audio data best suited for new headsets, using a 'compatible' headset is always a gamble. You took that risk when you decided not to buy a new pair.

What the X12s are not so new, but they are not old either they are a great headset and they work perfectly, they came out in like 2012 or so.

x12's aint ancient but for their price they are great!

What are you on about? The x11s are old, but the x12s are the current-gen wired Turtle Beaches. The only thing "ancient" about them is that they were designed for the last gen/PC and not the One.

BJP so let me get this right its a problem with the adapter and not the headset itself ?

i have a pair of TB x32's will they work or not ?

They most likely will, it is not the headset it is the adapter, that is what I got from this article.

"The official Xbox forums and other gaming hubs have been littered with complaints regarding the adapter, the bulk of these issues involve older Turtle Beach and Astro headsets. The various user reports declare that both in-game audio and Skype call work just fine, yet distortion is experience in party chat."
