Titanfall found to launch at 792p on Xbox One

Titanfall has been confirmed by Respawn to officially launch running on the Xbox One at the same resolution as the beta, 792p. Below you can read some excerpts from lead engineer Richard Baker on post-release updates.

We’re going to experiment. The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We’re trying to optimize… we don’t want to give up anything for higher res. So far we’re not 100 per cent happy with any of the options, we’re still working on it. For day one it’s not going to change. We’re still looking at it for post-day one. We’re likely to increase resolution after we ship.

A lot of the performance is on the GPU side. There’s still room for optimization and we’re still working on it. Ideally it would have been a rock-solid 60 all the time when we shipped but obviously when there’s big fights going on, lots of particle effects, lots of physics objects… we’re still working to condense the systems, make them more parallel so we can hit 60 all the time, ideally.Respawn lead engineer Richard Baker

This is just silly, I know there will be an update for 1080p play in the future, but it should have it at the start. 792p is unacceptable in this day and age!

Neither one of the consoles run 1080p yet, the Xbox One is soon/or already had the update.


They are still working on it. For day one its not going to change.

I'm gonna have to stop you right there. PC Gaming is the best. I own consoles, but I also own a PC. If you have the patience to save up for a computer that can handle awesome graphics and amazing speed then you'll understand.
PC gaming is far superior, sure there's some games not on PC that are on console, but you can play a lot of games with an Xbox or PS controller on PC too, alternative to the keyboard and mouse. I could throw many points out to counter what you say.

OT: 792p is still nice. Anything above 720p is nice. You'll barely notice the difference. It's a great game and as long as it's not choppy, I wouldn't be complaining.


Far superior not really, that is your opinion and I could careless for PC gaming console gaming is way better in my opinion, thanks though for your reply.

Because Xbox can make 792p look like 1080p. Seriously though, why comment in the Xbox section if you're going to be a knob?


Upscaling does not look the same as native 1080p. Besides the XB1 upscaled has actually been shown to make games look worse. (Should be remedied in a future update though)


Up-scaling on a HD TV with HDMI support does though.


It's not as good as native 1080p. Microsoft has pointed out as well problems with the upscaled, it actually degrades the quality of the picture. This should be resolved in a future patch though.

I love the xbox man but you cannot seriously go and say pc gaming is not great... you literally can customize everything to what you want... and the selection of games is infinite times more than consoles.
