Facebook releasing new look for News Feed today

3.9
It is very clear that Facebook's News Feed is a giant factor in site usage so one year ago the company released plans for major design changes to the site fixture for both desktop and mobile iterations. The mobile user interface tweaks were seen by mobile users without much dismay but the same could not be said for the desktop version for the unlucky few in a private test for the tweaks. The desktop design featured complicated menus and ill thought out filters for both the left and right side columns of your News Feed, it didn't get raving reviews from those involved in the private test. According to Facebook those design decisions will not be included in the design rolling out today to desktop users.

The new design features a brand new look for News Feed including larger images than previous designs, a new font , and a light gray background. Among the changes the left side column is a tad smaller along with a few page icons being swapped out.

The design will roll out in batches to users over the next few weeks yet while mobile users will retain their current user interface.

Haven't gotten it yet, hope I get it soon. It actually seems a bit cooler than the current one, still wish they went back to the first layout.

This actually isn't bad. We always need a change of layouts, so I can't see why it would hurt.
