Titanfall Xbox 360 'coming along really well'

Titanfall producer Drew McCoy has offered an update on the development of the Xbox 360 version of Respawn Entertainment's eagerly anticipated shooter.

In a post on gaming forum NeoGAF, McCoy said the 360 version is "coming along really well".

"Oh, and for all the speculation going on about the 360 version. Its coming along really well, Bluepoint is full of phenomenally talented devs," he said.

"We (being Respawn) have been pushing for them to have all the time they need to make it as good as possible, which means extra time for them to polish it up. We'd all like it to be day and date, but a better game a few weeks later is better than an unfinished one earlier."

Respawn Entertainment founder Vince Zampella revealed in late January that the Xbox 360 edition of Titanfall has been ported by Texas based studio Bluepoint Games.

Bluepoint previously worked on a number well-received HD upgrades for Sony titles including the God of War HD Collection and the Ico / Shadow of Colossus PS3 pack. It also ported Flower and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale to the PS Vita, and handled the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for Konami.

Titanfall Xbox 360 was originally planned for a March 11 release, alongside the PC and Xbox One versions, however, it will now be released on March 25.

According to a Twitter statement from EA, the delay was introduced to "give Bluepoint time to put the finishing touches on the game".

Don't know why they pushed it back for 360 owners.

Red-Sox-Nation I only have a xbox 360(for now) and I still think this is a stupid idea. Why waste effort on the previous gen?

um. you answered your question in your statement. its because you, and a lot of other people don't own a xbox one. Common sense really, so it's not really a stupid idea if you have any sort of clue on business initiatives

Racist I just want to say this. Anyone who thinks this game will even be close to a CoD killer is wrong. Right now it is on Xbox and pc only. Losing everyone on playstation automatically makes it disqualified from even being considered as a cod killer.

I can definitely see it being one eventually. I personally love the game play. Also I don't even think the titans are necessary to be a good game, just straight up pilot vs pilot would be cool.

This game may be great but like Racist said, it's not a cod killer until/when/if it comes to multi-platforms.

Even though most of my friends as well as myself still play the Xbox 360, I will definitely be getting Titanfall for my Xbox One.

It's great to hear that they are doing well with the 360 version though.

I'm sure this game would have had people buying an Xbox One if it hadn't have come out on the Xbox 360.

Glad everything is going well.
