Thief sneaks in 1080p for PS4 while Xbox One lags at 900p

4.2
Thief is due to be released on February 25th, it has came to light that the PS4 version will render at 1080p while it's Xbox One counterpart will only turn up at 900p.

The slight gap between resolutions was announced by the game's Publisher, Square Enix, in a recent chat with a leading gaming news venue. They go on to state the difference is so minute that you would *need* really good sight to spot the disparity. While he admits there is a difference albeit slight between the PS4 and Xbox One he goes on to tell gamers that the biggest jump in quality for Thief will be from the previous generation of consoles versus the latest and greatest from Sony and Microsoft.

We put more detail in, more special effects. But at the same time, we kept the same gameplay experience with the current-gen and the next-gen versions.Thief director Nicolas Cantin

config It's pathetic that the Xbox One can't run 1080p at 60 FPS.

but it can. it's up to the devs..

I don't think it's as simple as that.

Titianfall can't run at 1080p and 60 FPS on XB1, it uses the sorce engine at core which is the same engine Half Life 2 used in 2004 and I can run that at 1080p with 60+ FPS. An Xbox One can't. I just find it embarrassing.

The 360 couldn't even run 1080p all of thw games were just upscaled, all of these consoles should be running in 1080p comoe on it's 2014

It is. they said in multiple articles that it is up to the devs. there is also a list of what games they put out for 1080

Rehype Can't wait to see a comparison video and notice no difference between the two consoles.

The Xbox will be a bit fuzzier. I find this hilarious because both consoles are already so far behind compared to the PC. PC games are all going to be in 4K at 60 fps with a $200 graphics card in the next 3 years while the Xbox and PS4 will still be down at 1080p or even 900p. Its sort of sad.

Yeah if you **** sit 4 inches away from the screen smh, I seriously couldn't care less about 4K, I don't taking gaming serious enough for that.

Have you seen 4k yet? Sorry but I know a lot of people that have yet to even see it. If you say that there is no difference you need some glasses because anyone can see the difference. In about 3-5 years 4k is gonna be what HD is today and the is generation will be behind even longer.

If you're going to be a heavy gamer and DO care about graphics/performance you should be a PC gamer. But if you just want to play games (whether you're a heavy gamer or not) and DO NOT care about graphics/performance, console gaming is for you.
Simplest way I can put it.
