Xbox 360 gets free Gold weekend in US and Canada

Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold subscription service is free to access on Xbox 360 consoles this weekend, making Xbox entertainment apps and online multiplayer gameplay available for all Xbox Live members in the United States and Canada.

While the free weekend coincides with the upcoming beta launch of Titanfall, the offer does not extend to Xbox One consoles; beta testers will need a paid Xbox Live Gold membership to participate. As an alternative, the free weekend marks a solid opportunity to check out Wargaming's free-to-play online multiplayer game World of Tanks, which launched this week.

The free weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. PST tomorrow, and extends through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday.

I really don't understand why they wouldn't extend this offer to the Xbox One, it real makes it seem pointless, as most people still on the 360 are getting free gold anyways through various glitches. It nice of them to do this but at least extend it over all of Xbox Live, including the rest of the world.

Other places get things when US dont

They are sometimes regions which get free games you just need to know where they are and how to make a 2nd account on that region

I got Injustice: Gods Among Us and Bulletstorm (weird game but im sure it was a full 40GBP on release) for free
