Xbox One developer: upcoming SDK improvements will allow for more 1080p games

4.6
A developer at Rebellion Games has spoken out to make clear that upcoming improvements to the Xbox One SDK will allow for more games to easily operate at 1080p.

They (Microsoft) are releasing a new SDK that’s much faster and we will be comfortably running at 1080p on Xbox One. We were worried six months ago and we are not anymore, it’s got better and they are quite comparable machines."Jean-Baptiste Bolcato - Senior Producer at Rebellion Games"

He goes on to claim that it is currently difficult to output 1080p on the Xbox One due to the minimal amount of base eSRAM included in the system.

It’s such a small size within there that we can’t do everything in 1080p with that little buffer of super-fast RAM. It means you have to do it in chunks or using tricks, tiling it and so on. "Jean-Baptiste Bolcato - Senior Producer at Rebellion Games"

He did not let on what exactly is going to allow developers to more easily output their games at 1080p but he is persistent in declaring his personal belief that the Xbox One will "catch up" to PS4 in terms of usable resources in development in the near future.

Gossip The Xbox should already be able to output full 1080p.

I would expect in this day and age that a recent console should. It is quite sad that it can't run many games in 1080p

XboxPosted:

Yea we should already be at 1080pHD

Sanctorum Maybe consoles will finally catch up to PC? *giggles* Doesn't matter. PC hardware is years ahead of console hardware.

It's comments like those that prevent people from switching to PC. So stuck up. Also, don't the most played PC games kinda have bad graphics?

Your comment is unbelievably ignorant and you are completely wrong. The graphics are almost always based on how good a PC is to be able to run the game the best it possibly can.

Can you stop calling everyone ignorant? Im starting to see that your the ignorant one.

As long as the word fits the scenario, I will use it. Because you do not understand that, you are the ignorant one.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. Not everyone has the all-mighty superior knowledge that you have. Not everyone on the internet is trying to pick up a fight by the way.

You could have simply used Google to check if you were correct.

im fine with 720p my tvs not even 1080p so it doesnt make a difference to me

TelePosted:

I can tolerate 720p but 1080p is great, awesome to see 1080p to implemented to all games.

DissPosted:

It's good to know that more games will be able to utilize 1080p on the One in the future. It'll feel more 'next gen' once this is implemented.

That's good, don't like to play on anything other than 1080p.
